Q: What kind of shoes do I need to dance?
A:
Correct Irish dance soft and hard shoes are recommended. However for beginner levels these shoes are not compulsory and you are not pressured into buying them.
If you do not wish to buy these shoes, jazz shoes, ballet pomps, tap shoes or any shoes that are not bulky will work. Sneakers are not recommended as they can be quite bulky. Students are not permitted to wear socks only as they do not provide enough support for this kind of dance.

Your teacher will assess your level and give you material that you are comfortable with. As you become more confident, you will be given steps with more difficulty. Classes are never too big.
